Way back during 1964, every teenager across the nation went from wearing trim grey suits and shiny black boots to wearing cheap suits and grasping for rock and roll stardom, all because of one breathtaking band, The Beatles. The Beatles sparked a change in the way teenagers walked, talked and acted. They managed to transform fashion, style and the way teenagers looked. The biggest shock to our culture was the shaggy haircut known as a mop-top. The sight of the Beatles with their haircuts bouncing up and down whilst singing their smash hits “She Loves You” and “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” influenced parents all around the nation to let their child grow their hair out. (How the Beatles changed the way we look, 2015) If you were a male during the 60s without a mop-top, you were not what society would 've call 'cool'. Nowadays, we still see people with the mop-top haircuts and even guys with hair as long as girls, and that is all thanks to The Beatles. The look during Beatlemania was universally recognizable. All the guys were rocking collarless suits and Cuban-heeled boots, now known as ‘Beatle boots’. The popularity of this Beatles Boot marked the return of high-heeled shoes for men. Carolyn Laffin, employee at The Beatles exhibition, quotes “They weren’t just pop idols, they were musicians, and poets really." (The original pop stars: The Beatles in Australia, Youtube, 2015 )
